Bikes & Equipment

You are welcome to bring your own bike or to hire one from us. We can give you practical advice on arranging to fly your bike to Tanzania and help out with import procedures.

We recommend full suspension bikes for the kind of terrain we cover here in Tanzania, however if you have a good quality 'hard tail' then you will probably find it adequate for the trip. Email us if you have any questions about the equipment, or terrain.

We have two types of bike available:

Our mid range model is the Claud Butler. It is British made, with alloy frame, 'Q' brakes and effective suspension.

Our 'high end' model is the Specialized 'Enduro comp'. This a features a light alloy frame, hydraulic disk brakes, and top quality components.

All our bikes are very well maintained, as reliability is crucial in the bush. After most trips the bikes are stripped and checked by our expert mechanic. Our bikes are available for hire, only with an accompanying guide, at competitive rates contact us for details.

If you bring your own bike we can arrange for a pre or post safari health-check for it. Spares can be difficult to obtain here so you are advised to replace worn or suspect parts and to bring some crucial spares (please talk to us for more advice)

All riders must wear helmets and gloves. If you don't have your own, you can rent them from us. We also supply 'CamelBac' hydration backpacks with a 2ltr water capacity and space to carry cameras and biking essentials.

Your guide and support vehicle are equipped with a radio or a mobile phone for communication. Enough spares and puncture repair kits are carried for the duration of the trip, but if you have your favorites, you are welcome to bring them along
